Biography
Dr. Chuck Dietzen, a pediatric rehabilitation specialist, founded Timmy Global Health in 1997 with a vision to expand access to healthcare while inspiring students and medical professionals to become future humanitarians. His commitment to serving underserved communities began in 1992 and grew through medical missions in Haiti, the former Soviet Union, and India, where he had the opportunity to work alongside Mother Teresa. Growing up in Kokomo, Indiana, Dr. Chuck’s family welcomed 150 foster children into their home, an experience that helped shape his calling to work with children. Dr. Chuck has been recognized for his contributions with the Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest honor awarded by the governor, as well as the Indiana School of Medicine’s Distinguished Medical Alumni Award. In recognition of Timmy Global Health’s dedication toward improving the lives of children in communities around the world, Dr. Chuck also received the 2022 Kiwanis International World Service Medal.

This talk challenges students to consider their own capacity to serve, lead, and make a difference in the lives of others, regardless of their career path.

Throughout his career as a pediatric rehabilitation physician and global health leader, Dr. Chuck Dietzen has been inspired by the children he has cared for, learning powerful lessons about resilience, compassion, purpose, and living life to the fullest. Drawing from stories in his book Pint-Sized Prophets, Dr. Chuck shares heartfelt and often humorous experiences with young patients from around the world and the unexpected lessons they taught him. Students will be invited to reflect on how these lessons can shape the way they approach service, healthcare, and their own lives.
