This page is a resource for any Timmy alumni, volunteer, medical professional, student, or collaborator interested in sharing their expertise, experiences, and passion with Timmy Global Health student chapters.
Timmy Talks help students learn from real-world experiences, explore careers, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful conversations about global health and health equity.
As a Timmy Talks speaker, you will maintain a profile on our publicly accessible website, providing groups with the opportunity to invite you to their events. Facilitating connections with student chapters across various states is made straightforward!
Who can join Timmy Talks as a presenter?
Presenter must be a Timmy alum, student, volunteer, or partner collaborator.
Presentation topics must somehow relate to Global Health, leadership, service, or research.
Presenters must be able to commit to a minimum of one year on the Timmy Talks roster and be proactive about informing Timmy Global Health when they want to be temporarily or permanently removed from the roster.
Benefits to being a presenter with Timmy Talks
We coordinate the logistics of your speaking engagements.
We cover your travel expenses, including hotel, mileage, and meals.
You do not have to accept every request, and temporary leave/sabbatical is permissible.
You can let us know your preferred format (virtual or in person), as well as any geographic limitations or preferences.
What does a typical request process look like?
An interested Timmy student chapter will submit a request for you to present at their event via our website.
The Timmy Talks coordinator checks the request for eligibility and compatibility with your preferences, then sends you an email invitation.
You are free to accept, deny, or request alternative scheduling options for each invitation.
Once confirmed, the coordinator sends both you and the host student chapter confirmation emails with all of the event details and a Google Calendar invite.
Host student chapters will reach out directly to introduce themselves to the presenter and discuss further event details, such as AV needs, between the time of confirmation and the time of the event.
If the event is open to the general public, Timmy Global Health will market the event.
A week before the event, you will receive a reminder email.
After the event, you will receive a post-event email with a survey link via which you can share your thoughts.
