The Trip
The medical service trip is a flagship component of Timmy Global Health’s continuum of care in Latacunga, Ecuador. We work alongside our local partner, Hombro a Hombro. Centro Medico Hombro a Hombro is a clinic established in April of 2007, thanks to Shoulder To Shoulder and their partnership with Fundacion Accion Social Caritas (FASCA). CMHH provides primary care, prevention services, oral health, and school-based services in the community.
Flight Information
Your flight must arrive at Quito International Airport (UIO) on March 13, approximately by 8:00 PM or later, and depart from Quito on March 21 at 10 PM or later. Transportation to the hotel and the in-country flight will be arranged based on your flight itinerary.
TIMMY’s Partner
Timmy Global Health and Hombro a Hombro have been in partnership since 2013. Hombro a Hombro leads two main health initiatives: A Health Center in Santo Domingo, Ecuador (El Centro de Salud Familiar y Comunitario Hombro a Hombro) and Medical Brigades through TGH, University of Kentucky, and other international and local entities.
Health and Safety
No vaccinations are currently required for entry to Ecuador. However, we strongly suggest that you consult your physician for advice on any recommended vaccines or special precautions whenever traveling outside the United States.
Important Note
Your days in Ecuador will be an invaluable opportunity to learn more about a country different from your own, practice your Spanish and Wao terero, and serve people in much need of your time, energy, and hope. It will also be a week to reflect on your beliefs, attitudes, and goals. Your experience will be a fun, challenging, and eye-opening experience. But remember that the trip only lasts a short time, so we urge you to come with an open mind, a flexible attitude, and a sense of humor.
Open Roles
If you have completed your residency and carry a medical license and diploma, you can join as a medical professional.
We are looking for MD/DOs, RNs, and a Pharmacist.
